The brief was introduced as part of the honours degree course at Swinburne University and groups of 3 or 4 conducted research involving survey, focus group and interviews with students from a low-socioeconomic background in Victoria. The purpose was to encourage the secondary school students to study design as their main discipline for tertiary education.
The outcome includes a website, a zine-making kit and an instructional video. The series of 5 zines take the students through the basic and general understanding of design principles and elements and also work as a reference for students to make their own ones. Available online, Made is a fully sustainable, up to date and low-cost solution with endless creative possibilities for students
